1.2767 Sold Work Tool Steel
Nickel cold work tool steel. Goof harden-ability and toughness. Ability for polishing, photo-etching and erosion treatment.
Properties:
● High hardness, strong toughness, suitable for manufacturing tools under long-term impact and heavy pressure.
Applications:
● When the maximum hardness is achieved after heat treatment, it can also be used to make cold molds for cutting tools, jewelry and plastics. Generally used for tool die, cold forming die, blanking die, scissors, etc.

Physical properties (average values) at ambient temperature
Density [g/cm3]: 7.84
Thermal conductivity [W/m.K]: 28.0
Soft Annealing
Heat to 610-850oC, cool slowly in furnace. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 262.
Stress Relieving
Stress relieving to remove machining stresses should be carried out by heating to 650oC, holding for one hour at heat, followed by air cooling. This operation is performed to reduce distortion during heat treatment.
Hardening
Harden from a temperature of 840-870oC followed by oil. air or warm bath (180-220oC) quenching. Hardness after quenching is 56 HRC.
Tempering
Tempering temperature: 150-400oC.
Tempering Temperature (oC) vs. Hardness (HRC)
